SideAid256 32k ROM from Solidisk 2/4Mb RAM/ROM expansion

Post by VectorEyes »

This is a 32k ROM from a Solidisk Two/Fourmeg RAM/ROM Expansion board. Label on the top said 'SideAid256'

I'd be grateful if somebody could check if this is a 'good' dump ASAP as I will only have this ROM my possession for a very short period of time after today.

The header contains the text "STL TOOLKIT 3.00 (C) 1987 By Solidisk Written by Ian Homan".

I noticed that locations $1DC2 to $3E02 inclusive are filled with $FF. I assume this is deliberate, it doesn't seem to correspond to a section of memory that you'd see if there was some kind of address decoding problem.

Let me know if this is useful and whether I should have provided any information in addition to the above. Thanks!

Also have a look here: https://www.stardot.org.uk/forums/viewt ... 80#p395180

I think this is a stacked 32 kB ROM, which contains both the original STL Toolkit 3.00 and SideAid256 1.05 (#1055). I've split them up and the serial of SideAid256 looks legit ($&BFF9="1055" matches !&9C67=&05050001).

There should also be an utility disc available to enhance the use of the board.
