Classic puzzle game Soko-Ban now on Acorn Electron and BBC Micro/Master. Inspired by the C64 version.

Hello and thanks for the new game. Did you copy the levels from the C64 version or you came up with some levels of your owns? They seems different from the ones I played years ago.

You're welcome!
These are the 50 levels from the original C64 version of the game.
I fixed level 42 though (moved 1 crate) because it is unsolvable in the original game.

I sunk a bunch of time in this morning... more than I should have maybe

Great fun. :D =D>

My dev B can be a bit flaky sometimes but I have had two identical crashes (walking right in the yellow end zone same exact spot) and level 11 the level display top left gets replaced by some bricks after a while (happened twice). I also saw some corruption on the 9 in the font second row from the bottom of the 9.

Thanks for playing/testing! Will investigate the bugs. The "9" corruption is a stack problem. Bug on level 11 is from screen address wrapping when you walk in the lower left corner. I can fix these.

Which level and which spot exactly?

It was level 8 where the yellow area is at the bottom of the screen. I'd pushed two crates down then was pushing them to the left & returning right on the bottom row. The game froze mid walk animation. I reset and tried the level again and must have done near identical moves because it froze in the same place... so 3rd time I walked up first. I will have a few goes to see if I can get it to hang and take a photo.

Thank you everyone who is playing (and testing) my game.

Just released v0.3 with a few bug fixes:
1. Little more stack space
2. Different tile clipping
3. RTI at &D00

This should fix the corrupt "9" digit, the stats bar corruption on level 11 (and others), but I'm not sure about the crashes that were experienced on level 8 (haven't been able to reproduce this myself).

Great game and programming! Well done :D

Now I've solved level 1, is there any way to skip to level 2 next time I play? If there's no better way, then I'm planning on using an emulator's save-state capability to save my game progress.

Congratulations Kelvin, you've created another great game for the Electron =D>

I mounted it directly by WiDFS with
*MOUNT 0 http://proxy.acornelectron.nl/?https:// ... ko-ban.ssd

but then SHIFT+BREAK won't start the game. I can just start it with these commands:
PAGE=&1900
NEW
LOAD "LOADER"
RUN

When I look at the *INFO of the files I assume you're doing naughty tricks with the files
We'll discuss this at the Big Ben Club meeting in May :)

BTW ... it's amazing that there wasn't an Electron version of this before. An Atom version was already written in 1991.

I would never do such a thing!
Seriously though, I can't imagine why it wouldn't work on WiDFS...
