Acorn User one line games

Post by RobC »

I've been playing the Acorn Abuser's diary one-line games - I remember typing them in and playing them as a kid so they brought back some memories.

Two of the authors are listed as "Stan Froco" and "Oscar Rune". These are anagrams of Acornsoft (as was the Abuser diary's "ace reporter" Orson Fact) and Acorn User respectively. "Orson Fact" is also listed as the author of the Mastermind game on the Acorn User games disc.

Does anyone know who actually wrote these games? A quick search revealed that "Stan Froco" wrote a series of articles for Acorn User in 1983 - does anyone know who actually wrote the series? (Apologies if they really were written by Stan Froco!)

EDIT: I am now wondering whether "Stan Froco" was David Johnson-Davies as the Acornsoft anagram would tie in and "Stan" wrote a series of articles on Lisp for AU which is listed as one of David Johnson-Davies' interests. I believe that the Atom version of Mastermind was written by David also.
