Dear Admins
I now have 5 PM's in my outbox folder. and can't seem to send anything.
A few of my contacts on here will be thinking I am an ignoramus in not replying.
I haven't had any trouble before and I have been a member for over a year.
I make plenty of posts in the 8bit Acorn forums mostly so I am fairly active.
Any reason why this would be so as it's been like this for several weeks.
I have sent three messages on the contact page now and to individual admins
but they don't seem to get sent either.
Posts I make to the forums are fine though, hence my cry for help here.
Can anyone assist.
thanks
Brian

They sit in the outbox until read by the recipient.

Re: PM problems
You're not being ignored - quite often emails to the main address end up in spam so we don't see them. If you want attention it's always best to PM or jump up and down in a thread

Don’t jump up and down too hard, we wouldn’t want to crack the plastic case or the PCB
If it’s about the forum you can use the Contact us link (envelope icon) at the bottom of every page. This sends a message to the admin’s. If it’s important or urgent, post up a new topic and report your own post (use the ! exclamation mark icon/button in the top right). Or if it’s about another post/user, report their post. Both these will result in the forum software alerting the moderators and administrators.
If it’s to do with anything else and you have sent a PM/DM and you don’t get a reply, look at the members information page to see when they last logged on. And maybe look at the last topic that user posted in. Then quote some of their post (no need to quote the entire post).
If it’s related to trading, you may want to post in the topic that you have sent a PM.
Do remember though, that new users may not be able to reply to a PM.
Mark
PS I still have a sent PM in my outbox from December 2011! The user has never logged on since then…

Re: PM problems
Contact us can be hit/miss as I said above, mainly as it very frequently gets spam filtered. Best is trying to tag us in a post!1024MAK wrote: ↑Mon Sep 05, 2022 3:15 pm If it’s about the forum you can use the Contact us link (envelope icon) at the bottom of every page. Re: PM problems
If the "Contact Us" link is attracting lots of spam, does the forum software have any tools (that are not currently being used) to help.
If not, or they are not very effective, then maybe this issue should be raised with phpBB?
