Could you add me to the list please. I am not sure I can be there all day but I am particularly interested in the BeebEm talk and the floppy talks in the evening but will see what else I find time for.

If the presenter(s) are happy to be recorded, yes.

There is an index of recordings here

Thank you for adding me to the list, looking forward to it! I haven't yet received a Zoom invitation, so just wanted to check if this was going to be sent out ahead of tomorrow? If my email address isn't visible, drop me a private message and I can share it :)

EDIT: I've now received the invite, thank you very much! :D

Hi, nice to see you on the forum! :)

FYI both the morning talk (11am - 12 noon) and early afternoon talks (1.30pm - 2.30pm) are about emulation, specifically Beebem! :)

Anyway, I've added you to the list.

I'll send out all remaining Calendar Invites containing the Zoom logins later this afternoon/early evening.

0 places left*.

* = I say that, but I notice there's been quite a lot of afternoon-only signups since the Frak demo was announced(!) so on this occassion I think it's safe to make a few more places available, so should anybody else wish to join in tomorrow: please post in the thread by midnight tonight if you'd like to reserve a spot (and if you're new to ABug events - or haven't already confirmed - please also PM me to state that you're happy to receive the Zoom info in the form of a Calendar Invite email sent from the ABug Google Account). If you think Google is the arch-enemy of mankind then I can forward the logins by PM if absolutely necessary. Thanks!

Hi, there's a bit of a backlog as I still need to release the previous month's recordings (which have taken a long time to edit due to a Zoom glitch amongst other factors).

Once all of the September talks are online, I'll begin releasing October's. However I am hoping to get the Source Code 'Reveal' session online within the next couple of days - again, a lot of editing needed on this one to fix various tech issues, and I'm away today so can't work on it until much later tonight).

Thanks BigEd!
Did I adequately answer the question about how to use the 1770 to write arbitrary FM streams? Not sure I was the clearest I could have been on that one.

Yes, you did: the switch to MFM and the nibble offset certainly made sense to me. Ingenious!

Excellent! :D Thanks for sharing.

I hope nickpelling likes the remixed Arcadians theme you use for the intros to these videos. ;)

Edit: I see that question was asked at about 43 minutes into the talk.

Apologies for the big delay with this one, here is Chris Evans' (scarybeasts) talk about Discbeast ...

Imagehttp://abug.org.uk/index.php/2020/10/03/discbeast

"Careful archiving of old BBC discs reveals that there are a surprising number of release variants for many games. This talk covers discbeast -- a tool that can be used to image discs on original hardware (for those without a Greaseweazle or similar device), as well as how discbeast identifies variants. We will also dive into a range of interesting discoveries made so far in our quest to archive original discs and identify variants."

Here's the update phil_pem gave about some items of software that had been recently preserved for the RISC OS platform:

We've just opened a new forum specifically for RISC OS Software preservation too (currently devoid of any posts!):

I know I've posted this video elsewhere on the forum, but for completeness and to round this thread off, below is the 'Source Code' reveal talk, which saw ex-Acorn computers personel pour over the source code for software they wrote some 35-40 years ago ... all of which has now been recovered, thanks to Stuart Swales and Paul Fellows (and also hoglet and flibble of this here forum! :) ).
