Dirty WAV - is it possible to fix?

I'm trying to archive "Yes Prime Minister" (it's probably already done somewhere but I'm experimenting).
I've tried recording the WAV file a couple of times now but I think the tape is damaged.

As can be seen from the screenshot, blocks 1, 2, 3 and 4 are very messy. There are some other areas in the wav which are similar - basically there are about 10 blocks which fail to convert to UEF. It's a shame because the rest of the tape seems really clean

I had a quick go with Audacity - see if the three blocks in the attached are any better.
(I did the same thing I did here.)

I get this when I import it into Audacity...

...and "WAV file not 8 bit" when I run it through makeuefam.

However - I equalised the original file as per your instructions, exported as unsigned 8bit pcm and it converted successfully - yay!
However - it doesn't load in b-em - boo

Ah, we must be a bit closer then... can you tell which block is bad when you load it?

Fixing a corrupt /dirty WAV is almost impossible with a Machine Code data program.
zooming in and redrawing the wav peek has helped me in the past, where the volume had dropped out.
But i think that was more blind luck than skill.

When the program is written in BASIC.
it is easier to spot the odd corrupt converted byte in the listing.

Anyway here is a working version, so you can hex compare your test results.

There is some strange sound in that recording I don't be-leave it will ever be readable with the interference that is in there. If a wave has drop out or interference like this the chances are very small you will ever make a working uef from it.
using the /ft5 filter seems to have worked to extract a working copy from these waves files, attached are the resulting hq.uef's (patched to fix for the hq uef dummy byte bug that is in makeuef).
