Update 4-May-2020: All changes complete!
Update 5-May-2020: PDF replaced/updated to reflect shortened forum descriptions, meaning most descriptions shouldn't spill onto a second line if using the mobile theme
It will involve the addition of several new or split forums (whilst many will also be renamed slightly) hence a number of existing topics will be moved into different forums (so please bear this in mind if searching for a particular post or topic!). If you're the author of a thread that has been moved and believe it belongs in a different category, please PM me!
Before making new posts, please read the revised descriptions for each forum carefully and ensure you post your topic(s) to the appropriate forums.
The changes incorporate "phase 2" of the old Retro Software forum migration ... a mere 3.5 years after "phase 1" in November 2016!
The Retro Software website is currently being redeveloped and the forum link from Retro Software will link directly to the Retro Software section on Stardot - which is why all of the topics/posts related to new games/demoscene development are being consolidated into one section. 'Phase 3' of the Retro Software migration (importing actual posts across from the old Retro Software forum) won't begin for a few weeks at least.
Here is a brief summary of the changes:
- new forum added for discussion/proposals for events - hence the existing events topic will purely be for listing confirmed events (though we may add a stickied thread containing a calendar)
- several forums moved/added to the Retro Software section.
- 32-bit Acorn software split into separate 'games' and 'other' forums
- new forum for BBC Basic for Windows/SDL/iOS, Brandy and other modern implementations of classic languages
