Really? lol
So what do I need to add to it to read off the MMC card (apart from a card reader type device of some sort)

Either way, I intend bringing both my Model B and my Master 128 up so we can have a look at what's needed.

From the name of the product (mmbeep), it sounds like it takes MMC, not CF ;)

As my back is bending packing the car this afternoon the thought has popped into my head....

:?: TROLLIES :?:

As in, do the Hotel have any, or are one of you guys bringing something? I've got one, but it's a big'un ( ) and I doubt I can pack it in the car safely.

Thanks, Mark.

They should do, for visitors with insane amounts of luggage... the only practical way to get them to the upper floors.

Dunno Mark, give 'em a call if you want? (though as David says, I suspect they're bound to)

Btw, were you able to get the other stuff done (fit X-Arcade with Sanwa's, Prodest board swap, fix my BT Merlin elk, look at the remaining A4s etc) and if so, will there be room for you to bring any or all of it to the show?

Yes, I suppose they will do.

As for the other stuff...now he reminds me, the night before I set off! Erm....the honest answer is no, apart from the A4s, which we discussed when we met previously. If I get everything finished with time to spare, I'll try and do something tonight, otherwise I'm setting off at about 10am tomorrow.

On the plus side, I've found the software for my scrolling mesage panel I built (as a project for my apprenticeship at Ferranti Computer Systems) back in 1984, and I've had it working again quite nicely. So I'll have that to show off.

It's not very exciting compared to the LED message displays commercially available these days, but I've got some fancy little animations for it.

(All other animation contributions are welcome - see what you can fit into a 7 line by 8 column LED matrix!)

One questin I'm tempted to ask the Repton gurus is if they have had a chance to play the updated Repton 2 and its new levels, and what they think of them if they have.

If you've played through Message and found yourself in a very unfamiliar screen... I might explain why......
Hint; you get to them via transporter in the top left hand corner of the start screen (just below the puzzle skulls).

No worries, sorry about that - it's all in my 3rd car (so nice and dry), but with the show I'd forgotten about it. I have however sorted out most of the disk software, including a good haul of Master Compact stuff, which I've packed and will bring along for sale at the show - I'll let you have first rummage thru it tho

Nice one!

I was going to pack one myself, but I'm going to be pushed for sockets as it is, especially as anyone found carrying one of these...

...will be plugged into it themselves

I'm also bringing a problematic M128 motherboard with its PSU if anyone wants to be brave and work out what the problem is with it.

We're bringing one to help with the shifting of arcade cabs, so you can use that if you like. We won't be arriving till 6pm ish though...

In a similar vein, my pristine Model B intended for display blew a capacitor (I think; I'm told, anyway!) a few days ago; so if anyone is able to (a) confirm this as the problem, (b) help this Beeb-loving otherwise technophobe fix it, I'll be hugely grateful!
