Hyper Sports crashes

Post by sydney »

I've nominated Hyper Sports in the current season of the high score challenge and remembered I previously had a problem with it. The game crashes with a 'Not found. Bad program' error. I've posted about this before in a couple of threads and there doesn't seem to have been a solution. Colin posted an alternative dsd but this has the same error. This is all on beebem set up as a standard beeb. It seems to work fine on jsbeeb though.

I've had a brief go on this version in Win BeebEm 4.14 (under WINE on a Mac) and I can't get it to crash.

I'm using beebem 4.14 on windows 10. I'm using the version from bbcmicro.co.uk.
It crashes after the third event, the horse I believe. It crashes whether or not you qualify for the next event. Typing *. shows an empty catalogue and if I then select 'Load disc 0' and reload the disc I see the correct catalogue.

I think that was one of the bugs in BeebEm 4.14 if I use the new Ver4.15 Beta 1 it works fine.
BeebEm Change History
=====================

Version 4.15 (Charles Reilly, Chris Needham, Kieran Mockford, pstnotpd,
Richard Broadhurst, J.G.Harston, Mike Wyatt, Alistair Cree)
------------

* Fixed 8271 disk emulation to show disks as not ready after motor stops.

I think this is what fixes the not found error.
Peter.

That did the trick. I had to download the visual c++ 2015 package from microsoft.
