I should be able to bring a spare. Do you need one for a TV or for a CM8833-type monitor? (i.e. one with resistors or without?)

Rumours of my defection to North Korea, or even transmogrification into another species, having been much exaggerated, it was good to be at Wakefield again and see a lot of familiar faces. After a splendid fish & chip lunch at the Kingfisher with IanS, I enjoyed getting to the know the Acorn Communicator a little bit better. I was delighted to see that it even had a volume adjuster on the back of it, something that I hope all 21st century game writers will note. I was also glad to see the only known Integra-B board still in existence after Beebug had refused to sell me one in 1991 claiming that they were obsolete! Some 26-bit activity was also carried on close by.

Hopefully I'll have some pics of it all in early May.

All back safe and sound. Fun day! Too late in the bar last night. Bad influences abound. Great to see many faces, old and new. I met a person who actually codes in BCPL for a living and the Gods answered my continual criticism of the A3010 by gifting me one which hadn't actually been completely destroyed by battery leakage. I'm going to have to shut up now

Many people had a go at coding in BCPL, COMAL and PASCAL - there was some minor poking at FORTH and I don't think a single person tried to do anything in LISP!

Like Beebmaster, I also noticed more bits in the next room but didn't venture in there.

Had a great time as usual. Claire says thanks for making her feel so welcome.
Highlight of the show was definitely RobC's enhanced video ula. If it hadn't been right in front of me I'd have not believed the stuff coming out of his beeb.
There was a lot more 8 bit than 26/32 bit activity this year. We'll have to get the show renamed next year.

Had a great time today - it was good to meet up with people again and to see so much interest in the 8-bit and 32-bit scenes.

A great show as always. A great big sloppy thank you to WROCC for organising the event with such meticulous attention to detail. And wonderful to see so many Stardot members there. It was even possible to return Lee's Spectrum mug that had been gathering dust on my shelf ever since he left it at Halifax about a year ago.

Shame about the venue though because they cannot make a decent ham sandwich without drenching it in copious mustard. The accompanying salad was nice though.

Managed to complete my collection of RISCOS 3.1 desktop machines by picking up an A4000 from the charity stall. It needs some TLC but not due to battery leakage - the board is lovely and clean although the battery is most likely cream-crackered.

I shall have to get rid of some stuff now to make room for my new acquisitions.

I was able to venture into 32bitland to see what was going on and there were some innovative ideas. I liked the Pi keyboard; the slope is just right and the keyboard very responsive. It should do well in education. There were some good games for the Raspberry Pi. I find it strange that such a high volume computer does not have more of a games market - RISCOS or LINUX. ROOL had just completed their version 15 of full-fat RISCOS for the Pi; this runs on all versions. I was very tempted to buy it along with the NutPi but, unfortunately, they did not have the right format SD cards.

Looking forward to next year.

Could only spend an hour or so there, but he quite enjoyed it. Probably because things were actually working and not letting out smoke / catching fire / tripping circuit breakers / in multiple pieces which is something he's just not used to with my older computers...

Was well worth a visit. I had the missus and child in tow so only got a brief look in but was great to get to speak to a few people. I'll keep my eye on the calendar next year and make sure I've got the whole day free!

Even with my bodyguard I managed to fork out some money...RO 5 sdcard and ROMS for my RiscPC, if it ever makes it back out of storage!
