'Blast' from the past...

Post by Mister Al »

Hello people

I hope you don't mind me taking up a small amount of message board space to express my surprise at what I've just seen.

I wrote a tune (during a particularly boring A-level Chemistry lesson, as I recall) which was eventually used in a BBC Micro game called 'Blast'.

Now, fifteen years later, I am directed by a retro-gaming friend to the 'Sound & Music' page of this very site because they spotted my name there.

Not only has somebody gone to the bother of listing my tiny contribution to the world of computer gaming (a contribution that I must admit I had pretty much forgotten all about in the intervening years) on a web site, they have even gone so far as to record it and turn it into an MP3!

To whoever is responsible for this strange act, I thank you. You have made my day.

Al Theobald
(composer of 'The Yeti', theme tune to 'Blast')

(Actually, I'd forgotten just how bad the 'solo' section of the song, just after the key change sounded...)
