Hi,
I would just like to let you all know that I have released a new version of the Mac BeebEm program.
Since the last update, new features in the program include :
Added remote client/server ethernet option for serial port emulation
(so you could write software to telnet to a remote network, write a simple web browser or ftp client etc, running on the Beeb)
Added print screen function
Added copy screen to clipboard function
Added three new higher resolution screen modes
Added freeze when minimised option
Added load/save user keyboard layouts
Added protect on load disc option
Bug fix - Missing scan line at top of screen
Bug fix - Non-default window size not set on startup
Bug fix - Random crash when changing from mode 7 to any other screen mode
Bug fix - Cursor position wrong when in column 1 in editing mode
Slight tweak to source code to get it to compile using Xcode 3 on Leopard
Slight change to sound routine to remove some artefacts
You can download the latest version from :

If anyone has any questions about the program, please don't hesitate to ask, either via this forum or personally.
Jon.

I've gone back to the earliest version of the code I still have (3.0s, Apr '06) and Boffin still misses a bit off the right hand side of the screen. It looks like the game is using a non standard screen mode wider than 320 pixels.
The windows version displays it correctly so I guess I have got something wrong in my code somewhere.
Thanks for pointing this out. If you can let me know any other games which have a similar problem, this will help to solve the problem.

I'm having a problem running Snooker from Acornsoft. Basically when you play a shot everything seems ok and then suddenly it hits the fan big style.
Everything speeds up and all the balls fly round table for a few seconds with at least half of them ending up in pockets. I just pocketed 5 of the colours and 9 reds from the break.
Any ideas?

The Snooker problem [may not be BeebEm's fault]. --Greg
