I'm well happy with the heathkit and after a few hours with cotton buds and cleaning alcohol it's in absolutely mint condition as was the manual and diagrams

It's taken a while for me to reply as I was holding out for some videos of the items and some emulators I've done based on them but I still haven't got round to making the video

The Sinclair Scientific was my first calculator. Bought it as a kit in the early 70s. It taught me RPN and that the battery terminal attachment was super-fragile.

My next calculator was a Texas SR-56, which I still have and which still works and my latest acquisition is the HP-41CX, a sort of very grown-up version of the Sinclair Scientific and back to RPN again.

(I had a little to do with the adventure, running some experiments and donating the vital chip to the cause, but Ken's writeup is astonishing.)
