just depends on the tape player. Try playing a normal music tape & alignment the head with a small screwdriver to get highest tone output, this fixed one of my players to play much more. I also have Twin Kingdom Valley elk version, tried to UEF it a while ago, but last 10 blocks have gone silent...

you can use a old hi-fi 5 pin din to 5 pin din, it won't have remote, but least you can see if your new tape recorder works.

it sounds like from the description, that the RF lid was taken off, cut both wires to it, then feed a longer wire from the two pins on MB to the now cut off RF phono (center red / outer black(-)) But you are correct, would get hanged [-X so old socks around both sides of speaker to muffle loud music...

And the important bit. so, am right as usual :mrgreen: , an Issue4 :) it's great to open up a never opened before elk and see those little green stickers!! 8) no speaker pot to turn, & not so good picture as the RGB is half of the beeb brightness, so turn up tv brighness with remote....

try checking the output of the +5v when it's on

SFS is a Silicon Filing System , so 128k RAM drive if you have full 144k like I still have.
