Looking so polished already! I've always hoped we'd see some Llamasoft conversions for the Acorn 8-bits - you're doing a sterling job! Keep it up!

Re: Superior Software Posters
I love my Crazee Rider poster! Really would like a matching Galaforce one. I did actually get the Galaforce artwork vectorised during the lockdown when I was bored (see piccie). As it's effectively a line drawing, there's less texturing than on the original art, but it doesn't look too bad I suppos...

Hi, I still have plenty of posters left but I don't have time to pack/post stuff out at the moment, hence my 'hiding' the old sales thread.
If the situation changes I'll post on the forum.

Doctor Who's and the BBC Micro (Comic Con Aberdeen, 2023)
[I shared these posts on the BBC/Acorn Facebook pages over the weekend, re-posting here mainly for Beebmaster's benefit, who I know doesn't use Facebook!]. [Saturday] Thought these images/info may be of interest to any sci-fi fans in the group ... I was able to grab a few chats with this gentleman t...

This is brilliant, please let me know how you get on with the mapping.
Also if you could pm me any direct links to existing download/torrent links I'd appreciate it.

Here you go. I've renamed the 'Retro Software Volunteer Forum' (which only contained one post, however by coincidence the post is actually relevant).

It seems the issue is that the DNS hasn't been redirected to point at the new server after all.

Re: Sad news
Just to let you know the DNS for https://www.retro-kit.co.uk has just been updated to point to the archive on the new hosting, the change could take up to 48 hours to propagate around the web.
Then on Monday we'll update create a DNS entry for the http://archive.retro-kit.co.uk sub-domains.

Re: New Database Driven Disc Menu System
Hi, thanks for the reply, admittedly I've potentially got a specific purpose in mind ... I was wondering if it could replace the menu I'm using on this page which automatically scans a disc's contents (which consists entirely of BASIC files) and allows each to be loaded. menu_example.png The issues ...

Re: New Database Driven Disc Menu System
This is quite tidy, I like it! Thanks for sharing. There does seems to be a bit of text corruption top-left if you run (or emulate) it on a BBC Master: SNAPSHOT.png Also, a few suggestions: - could it automatically display the titles in alphabetical order? - rather than having to manually add each t...

Like!
Just watched it (twice), I especially like this bit.
Grabbed the zip too, though I don't think either of my A5000s have been switched on since before the lockdown, but this has given me the kick up the backside I needed to fish them out ...

Their BBC Bonanza and Power Pack comps both contained 7 games, and both include Wizzy's Mansion, Contraption, Space Ranger, and Ultron. Additionally, the cover art for Bonanza clearly shows the main character of Wongo - a game which only features on the other compilation 😂 https://stardot.org.uk/fo...

Video: The story of TBA Software (Alan Peters & Martin Piper) RISC OS/Acorn Archimedes publisher
This fascinating video was published about a week and a half ago ... and definitely deserves more views! TBA Software was an Archimedes/RISC OS games publisher who were clearly well ahead of their time - and the same can be said for their TAG games development engine! The story of TBA Software (Alan...
