Re: preserving old discs

Hi,
The Beebug games that are missing are a double-pack release of " Leapfrog Solitaire" and "Knockout".
(Presumably on a single cassette?)

Hi fuzzel,
I don't know which version the game is.
It was posted by Simon on the Pirate Disc thread, here:

The adventure discs are 9,10,11 and 26

Re: Anybody having trouble playing online?

Hi Mark,
It was affecting every game.
It looks like it may be Microsoft Edge related?
I installed Opera and it seems to work just fine.
I will test more tomorrow.
Could a VPN cause issues?

Re: Satan's Challenge - Can we get it working?

The truth is I haven't had time to look at it properly, but I was thinking if a self contained BASIC program could be extracted, then it could be loaded in a straightforward fashion, (and maybe compressed too.) This means looking what the loader is doing... Seeing as we have 2 broken copies it may n...

Satan's Challenge - Can we get it working?

Hi, Satan's challenge is a rare game. The copy on bbcmicro.co.uk is faulty: http://www.bbcmicro.co.uk/game.php?id=2209 A new copy has turned up on this disc: 010-GamesADVENTURES.DSD This crashes out with a NO ROOM error: sc.png This means that the convoluted loader ends up with a BASIC program. (Or ...

It is nicely 'clacky' though...

Tantalisingly, 2 games named LIGHT BIKES and POKER DICE have just been found by Mick Brown on a recent disc trawl.
Can it be confirmed if these are the missing MODEL B computing games?

I know it's not "weighty" and the parser is only (a very decent) verb/noun jobby, but I am really rather fond of my recent BASIC effort (written in covid lockdown) https://bbcmicro.co.uk/game.php?id=3472 In the style of Scott Adams / Brown Howarth games. I think the story is pretty cool......

Thanks Bob, for now I'll release some of the completed SSD versions to this chat. Once Bill's editor is released, new versions can be created either from scratch or by importing existing designs held in BDCFF files. I'll leave Bill to provide the details about the editor. It's really impressive! :D...

Re: MIA Model B Computing 8

Hi Mick,
There weren't any "pages".
The magazine was literally the cassette stuck to a piece of cardboard.
If Dave can't read the tape, the best bet would be to post a WAV somewhere so we can have multiple attempts at making it readable.
