I think you have to check the capacitors C2/C4 and transistors Q1/Q2 in the video circuit.
Did you try another TV or monitor, maybe there is a problem with the RGB2HDMI?

I did have stalemate once and then a message appears and you can restart or end the game.

It does look like a nice game but I think the game is developed for a monochrome screen because it says the computer has black squares and the player white squares. Don't know why the computer squares are red at the beginning and blue when they are moved. You can remove the REM in lines 612 and 613 ...

I never tried it but a Dutch Acorn Usergroup member did create a solution for this in the past by creating a flip-flop.

Hi Pete,

C11 delays the RESET pulse to be sure all chips are ready to be reset.
The value determines the delay time and if 10 uF isn't enough, you can try a bigger one.
