Re: Improved Electron version of Elite
Fantastic, Electron Elite was my first Elite. My kit is in storage however, so can't help on hardware testing. Great work, look forward to playing.

Re: Swift Game Development Starter Kit.
I'm still here but not very active, I have been working on swift very infrequently rewriting in C#
To simplify it now exclusively supports beebasm and beebem and nothing else. The version I have I don't think is suitable for a release but I'll check. I think there's too much missing.

Re: Electron - Alternative BASICs
I think (could be wrong ) MrGpG probably means a BASIC supporting multi line IF THEN ELSE ENDIF, so you would need the ENDIF then, for the interpreter to know when the "ELSE" statements to be executed actually end.

Re: 50 years of Pascal
Absolutely! And Delphi's implementation of OOP with it was sweet. Better in my humble opinion than C++ implementation, which seems clunky in comparison.

Re: The worst commercial game...
Off top of my head was "Pedro" which I bought for the Electron from the Bargain Bin of my "Leo's" COOP store for £1.99, (could have been 0.99p) I was ripped off. Although there are others I remember, which I can't remember the exact name of, a snooker game and Empire Strikes Back...

Re: 50 years of Pascal
I've never played with Delphi on the BBC though...I have got the ROMs, just never fired them up. Delphi Roms. Was that a typo? I used Acornsoft Pascal ones back in the day for college work. If they exist I'd presume they just implement the OO aspects, wouldn't be room for much else I would have tho...

Re: Please subscribe to the new ABug Youtube Channel!
I don't think I'd want to encourage Youtube to plonk any ads on our videos though, they're a major turn off for me!! Youtube recently-ish announced that they will (if they want) put ads on channels that aren't monetised, which sucks. So they may run them on your videos anyway! You could sign up wit...

Re: Swift Game Development Starter Kit.
OK, I've booted up my XP install and also recovered my conversion from its backup. I'd decided to simplify the set up and I'm going to stick with that. When I wrote the original I envisaged flexibility covering more than just the Acorn computers. This made the system more complex but it seemed the w...

Re: Swift Game Development Starter Kit.
Well, hey, I'm still around. Sorry I didn't reply earlier. I suppose it does look totally abandoned and to some extinct it is/was. However behind the scenes over the last 5 years, on and off I've been re-writing it in C#. It was originally written in Delphi with extra third party widgets, some of wh...

Re: Hello - former electron user.
Welcome, my first Acorn was an Elk too, loved that little machine :) Back in the day expanded it with disks (AP4) and Roms and AP2 (Better Plus 2 expansion) etc. Not sure what prices are now, but used to be relatively cheap to collect for but I think most retro collecting is becoming more expensive ...

I wonder why? I got my copies many years ago and I've watched them many times, can't see why anything would need cutting. Do you know what the differences are? If not I'll try and compare myself.Commie_User wrote:These are on Youtube and I can see here they have shaved a few minutes off.
