A couple of months ago I dug out my collection of floppy disks for archiving, most of which were HD disks. All still reading perfectly.alchresearch wrote: ↑Fri Jun 13, 2008 1:39 pm I'd say years. All of the HD ones I formatted on the +D disk interface on my Spectrum back in the early 90's still work.

You still at the same address John? If so I'll get it in the post.
Although I was watching BBC4 last night and saw a programme about the crags, so I might venture over on Saturday and push it through your letterbox!

I've found this in a pile of RM software. Does it need digitising?

I was on MIcronet in the late 80s, but as a Spectrum user.
The software on there was all in the public domain.

Re: Michael Jay Publications
Having a look at these disks again, with the aim of using OMNIDISK and OMNIFLOP to image. http://nwex.co.uk/temp/bbcgeopacks.jpg Several are 5.25", but the 3.5" ones appear to be in RM Nimbus format. That explains why they won't run on the Beeb or why they won't image. Confirmed it by open...

Re: Michael Jay Publications
Hi John,
I think you did some discs for me last time. Are you near the Crags?
I tried imaging the discs with Omniflop but they didn't read in an emulator. Will dig out the Master and try them.

Michael Jay Publications
Hello again all.
New place of employment, new stack of BBC software found!
This time its a suite of Geography programs by Michael Jay Publications. I've done a quick scan and can't see it in the archive. Is it a "Missing In Action" publisher?

Re: Looking for Valiant Turtles
Hi, I've got a Valiant Turtle boxed, with software, for sale.
I've decided to sell all my Beeb kit, it just doesn't get the usage anymore and would rather see someone else enjoy it.

Unfortunately I don't have a working 5.25" drive, my Master only has 3.5" and SSD.flaxcottage wrote:Definitely not. That title is MIA.
An SSD and scans of the documentation would be greatly appreciated, please.
If you're able to do it on my behalf I'd be more than happy to send it to you.

Hi folks, long time no visit (last online Tue Sep 22, 2009 2:15 pm), but still got my Master & MMC kit.
Was having a clear out at work today and found this:
I've not checked if its in the archive or not.

Re: BeebEm V4.0 for Windows
It is possible to do something about the data folder's location.
I don't want the BeebEm folder and all the associated files being placed in my roaming profile. And unless I let it I get asked every time I start BeebEm.

Re: RS232 transfer BBC <>PC (XFER or other?)
What do you need to transfer? I've always found OMNIDISK and copying the disk images to a 3.5" disk to run on a 3.5" drive on my Master to be very quick and easy.

No, but I'll grab one for you. I can't recall exactly where i mounted it. I seem to recall it was going to be near the cartridge port so I could remove the card if I needed.Elitist wrote:Got any pics of yours mounted internally?
