Re: LM1889N Composite Video?

For Linux, for making schematics I use gschem, part of gEDA ( link ). It does take a little getting used to. But once you have the hang of it, it's quite quick and easy. Although when reverse engineering, I draw on paper using a propelling pencil, but with the chips drawn in pen. Only when I'm happ...

Re: LM1889N Composite Video?

Would need the schematic circuit diagram, as there are a number of configurations for the LM1889N. It has different sections that can be used differently depending on the requirements. Mark OK thanks for responding. There does not appear to be any circuit diagrams already so I would need to start f...

Hi After recapping my BBC B and Acorn A3000(usual battery damage) with help from Stardot, I have been trying to repair my childhood Videomaster Star Chess game. https://retroordenadoresorty-blogspot-com.translate.goog/2019/05/consola-videomaster-star-chess-1979.html?_x_tr_sl=es&_x_tr_tl=en&_...

If they are flagged do not reorder, they *may* just work, but I haven't tried any and don't have any gotek beebs out at the moment.
I gave it a go but no luck. I forgot that they are also double density format which may be the reason! Thanks.

Re: A new MENU system for MMC/Gotek

I'll see if I can fix it, but I might have added it to the !BOOT, or rather the __001__ file which is the renamed !BOOT for each disc. If so, it was a request but I can't remember from whom. If that is the case, I can add a command line option to do it/not do it. I want to go back and fix the limit...

Re: Crazee Rider - Help required.

I think the other problem is the Master version makes use of the 65C02 instruction set which the BBC does not support unless you change the 6502A to a 65C02 CPU. And I think it is hard coded to use the default RAM banks 4,5,6,7 it would need digging through the code to change that all, no idea how ...

Re: A new MENU system for MMC/Gotek

The problem very poorly reported is that the program needs to add an extra !BOOT to get back to the master menu and renamed the previous one, but there is no room in the catalog for an extra file. PS I guess that the workaround is to make the new !BOOT have the old one plus the new one in a single ...

Just went back to the beeb which is showing 80 tracks.

The incorrect number of tracks is shown in BeebEm so I think the image itself is fine.
B-Em won't open the file at all using 1.53 or 1.54T DDFS rom

Re: DDFS disk images via GOTEK

As sweh says, that won't make any difference - it's just how it's laid out in the file so the gotek knows what it has to show back to the beeb when it asks for a specific track. What's it saying when you *CAT or *VERIFY? *CAT is reporting &E4(228 in decimal) tracks. *VERIFY is reporting &74...

Re: Another A3000 restore

If you suspect faulty onboard RAM ICs rather than a trace or other issue, you could also try adding an A3000 4MB RAM expansion board. This bypasses the onboard RAM and having 4x as much memory is useful. If that is not the problem, at least you will still have the upgrade when you do sort it! The sm...
